‘Over the top’ rally draws thousands to Digby
By Karla Kelly
Digby's Wharf Rat Rally appears to have gone over the top for a total number of bikes and bikers attending the fourth annual biker weekend.
Water Street and part of Montague Row was closed Saturday and Sunday as bikers poured in from all across Canada and the United States to be a part of Atlantic Canada's largest motorcycle rally.
Preliminary estimates of the number of bikes ranged from 10,000 to 16,000.
An action-packed weekend kept bikers and spectators alike entertained from one end of Digby to the other. Included in the celebrity lineup were world-renowned bike builders, jet ski, motorcycle and motocross stunt performers, demo rides, concerts and games.
The Wharf Rat Rally committee expressed its thanks to the town, municipality, sponsors and volunteers for their efforts and support in helping to make this year's rally a great success.
