It’s coming together fast,” says Greg Moulaison, executive director of the Yarmouth International Air Show on Sept. 13 and 14.

For at least half a dozen weeks now, Greg Moulaison’s life has been all about details.
As executive director of the Yarmouth International Air Show on Sept. 13 and 14, Moulaison is responsible for delegating a multitude of duties.
There is the rental of 28 cars for pilots, the provision of a mini bus to move the static display staff back and forth to their hotels (the same bus will be used to move handicapped persons), at least 40 Port-a-potties have to be brought in and distributed, as well as handwash stations and waste stations.
Moulaison is working with Dave Warner and Frank Anderson at the South West Shore Development Agency, as well as air show coordinator Colin Stephenson, to pull it all together.
However Moulaison is the guy with the temporary office at the Yarmouth airport, the guy with the cell phone that chimes incessantly.
“I can easily slide from one thing to another and multi-task and not be overcome. I’m used to doing it. It’s what I did,” he said.
Frank Anderson was the one who asked Moulaison, a former major with 30 years experience in the air force, to head up the air show team. With a military background in logistics, his assistance with the event was pivotal.
On a typical day, four weeks to showtime, Moulaison is picking up freshly printed tickets for delivery to the Mariners Centre, meeting with the Yarmouth County Ground Search & Rescue to finalize parking details and supervise the closure of a portion of Starrs Road for three hours each afternoon during the show, plus proofing 100 posters for distribution around town. There are meetings set up with concession operators at 2:30, 3 and 3:30 p.m.
He’s the one responsible for having the program printed and contacting 20 businesses to advertise in the publication. He’s delighted with how the community is pitching in and helping with all aspects of the huge event.
“My whole focus has been to bring the community in on this,” he said.
“It’s coming together fast.”
