Those finding it hard to gaze out a glazed window should think twice before throwing it away. Get the Fog Out Atlantic saves the environment by repairing one window at a time.

Owner Bernie Lamey says, “glass is the third biggest producer of waste and it sits there longer than anything else in the landfill. It’s a real concern; just look at the state of the world today.”

Lamey says customers cut down on greenhouse gas emissions and the price to replace a window by restoring it through a basic process of physics.

Basically, two small holes are cut in the corners of the glass and solutions are inserted to vacuum out the imperfections in the window, Lamey said. “The window heats up and dries out. Clear silicon valves are used to plug the holes, but you can’t notice them.

“People are wowed by it,” Lamey said, “and there are very few windows we can’t do.”

The price to get the fog out of a standard window works out to $15 per square foot and is guaranteed with a 20-year warranty, which is transferable for up to six months.

“It’s quick and easy,” Lamey said. “I can do a typical window in about 30 minutes.”

This is the only company doing this kind of work in Atlantic Canada, Lamey said. “However, the response from customers is great. People are really open to the idea.”
