Fall Bazaar proceeds will buy cardiac stress test machine
Mark the date in your book: Sept. 27, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Hants Community Hospital.
That’s when members of the Hants Community Hospital Auxiliary will host a few wonderful hours at the Annual Fall Bazaar, and everyone’s invited.
Please note that this year the bazaar will be held at the Hants Community Hospital. This change of venue will be a benefit to all. Auxiliary members spend hours putting the bazaar together and having it at the hospital eliminates a lot of time transferring items. Another benefit is parking - there is a lot of it!
This year, the funds raised at the bazaar will be put toward the purchase of a cardiac stress test machine.
The hospital cafeteria will be open to serve lunch, which will consist of fish chowder or tomato bisque, roll, tea or coffee and your choice of pies. Many local church auxiliaries donate these pies annually to the bazaar. They have been doing so since its inception and we greatly appreciate all their hard work.
We will have the usual fresh homemade baked goods, baked beans, jams and jellies. The jewelry table is always busy with customers looking for that special sparkle.
We will once again have books and puzzles, white elephant items, plants and flowers. The silent auction is very successful and we have to acknowledge our local businesses that graciously donate items yearly to our cause.
The Upper Vaughans Auxiliary always has a busy table with their baked goods, crafts and an extremely large gift basket raffle. The “Rainbow Clothing Boutique” offers gently worn handbags, shoes, belts and women’s clothing. We will be selling tickets on a quilt donated by Eva Chambers and a 50/50 draw.
This year you will be able to browse through the Auxiliary’s Rainbow Gift shop. You will be pleasantly surprised at the gift selection, so take this opportunity to start your Christmas shopping. We also want to remind you that it is a “tax-free” shop!
We will have breast health information presented by Diane Skuffham and Bob Skuffham will entertain us once again with his music.
If anyone in the community wishes to donate articles or baked goods to this bazaar, please drop off items at the Hants Community Hospital cafeteria, 2-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26. Please contact Ann Hajdukewycz at 633-2211 if you have any questions.
Come and support your hospital! We look forward to seeing you there with a friend!
