The South Shore Wild prepare for second season
Loyal fans of the South Shore Wild Junior C hockey team in Liverpool will be happy to know the organization is preparing for its second season in the Nova Scotia league.
The Wild’s Training Camp is slated for Aug. 25 and Aug. 27 and Sept.2 and Sept. 5 at the Bridgewater Arena.
Players need to be on the ice from 9:15 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. Players aged 16-21 [21 year olds must have signed a card last year] are invited. Proof of age and $10 is required, with no exceptions, to get on the ice.
The coaching staff is very pleased with this year’s list of players and sees the potential for a very successful season.
With the new Junior A Lumberjacks in Bridgewater, the opportunity to pick up released players is also favourable.
There will be at least one exhibition game before October with details to be announced.
South Shore Wild is also pleased to see ice going in Oct. 20 this year in Liverpool. It allows the team more ice time and reduces travel costs during tryouts.
This year the Junior C team is planning a huge street hockey tournament in Brooklyn Sept. 20-21. All Minor Hockey players from Liverpool, Bridgewater, Shelburne and Barrington are urged to attend.
The details will be finalized in the very near future. Check The Queens County Advance, radio and southshorewild.com for information.
Registration for all groups will be very affordable with prizes as well as canteen facilities available as well.
