Open water effort

The Wolfville Tritons hosted an open water swim Aug. 16 at Aylesford Lake. Though the threat of showers and thundershowers kept the field down to five competitors, organizers said their first-ever try at this kind of event was a success. The participants all completed a 2km course, with Meghan Read (above) first across the finish line in a time of 37:22.93. Below, Nancy Witty placed second, just ahead of Shannon Read.
