Parent announces paving for Rte. 359
Kings North MLA Mark Parent announced today that a tender has been called to resurface 5.8 kilometres of Route 359.

The new pavement will start at the Thorpe Road in Centreville and continue up the North Mountain toward Halls Harbour, Kings County, ending at Al Bennet Road.

"This is an important tourist route and a road used frequently by local residents," Parent said. "I am pleased to see this project become a reality."

Parent says the MacDonald government has been investing in roads and meeting their commitments.

"Premier MacDonald pledged to pave 2,000 kilometres of roads and we are right on target to do just that," he said. "We have completed 1,075 and will do 425 this year."

The tender call for Route 359 closes Sept. 5 and work is to be completed by Oct. 31.
