Break and enters keep RCMP busy across county

The Annapolis detachment of the RCMP responded to 127 calls for assistance during the week of August 11 through 18. Among these were four domestic matters, three traffic accidents, 11 false 911s and 12 false alarms. Following are highlights of these calls:

-- August 11 at 8:01 a.m. A Middleton caller reported that copper lines were stolen from a parked tractor-trailer truck.
-- August 11 at 5:47 p.m. Police received a report of an impaired driver in Karsdale. One individual is facing charges.
-- August 11 at 7:04 p.m. A Middleton caller reported that bicycles had been damaged.
-- August 11 at 7:59 p.m. Police were called to a traffic accident in Granville Ferry after a motorist lost control of a vehicle and drove it into the side of a house. Mechanical failure may be a factor in the crash.
-- August 12 at 4:46 a.m. A Carleton Corner resident reported that a vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was later recovered in Halifax.
-- August 12 at 12:29 a.m. A Carleton Corner resident reported an attempted theft of a vehicle. The suspects fled the scene upon being discovered.
-- August 12 at 9:55 a.m. Police were called to a traffic accident at Upper Clements after a vehicle crashed into a pole.
-- August 12 at 9:56 a.m. A Lawrencetown caller reported a possible break and enter into a home after discovering a window screen had been removed.
-- August 12 at 8:15 p.m. A caller reported a traffic accident in Lawrencetown after a pair of horses pulling a wagon spooked. Minor injuries were reported.
-- August 12 at 8:40 p.m. A break and enter was reported into a Margaretsville residence. Nothing appears to have been taken, but the place was vandalized.
-- August 12 at 10:40 A Bellisle resident complained that someone was doing power turns.
-- August 13 at 11:06 a.m. A Paradise resident reported that someone stole a jacket and wallet from an unlocked vehicle.
-- August 13 at 4:06 p.m. A Nictaux caller reported a complaint of property damage after someone poured motor oil over the exterior of a vehicle.
-- August 13 at 5:41 p.m. A Granville Beach resident reported that power tools were stolen.
-- August 14 at 8:30 a.m. An Allain’s Creek resident reported power tools had been stolen.
-- August 14 at 11:35 a.m. A caller reported that a cottage in Albany had been broken into.
-- August 14 at 12:32 p.m. A caller reported that a cottage in Lequille had been vandalized and copper pipe removed.
-- August 15 at 2:08 Police received a request to locate an individual missing from Middleton. The individual was later located.
-- August 15 at 12:54 p.m. A caller in Port Wade reported a complaint of damaged property after a vehicle’s windows were smashed.
-- August 15 at 1:42 p.m. A Bridgetown caller reported a vehicle stolen. It was later located on Exit 21 at 101 Highway.
-- August 15 at 9:32 p.m. Police were called to a traffic accident on The Arlington Road after a pick-up truck collided with a load of hay. One male was taken to hospital and later released.
-- August 16 at 8:28 a.m. One male was arrested in Middleton for possession of a dangerous weapon.
-- August 16 at 7:07 p.m. Police received a report of a possible impaired driver. A patrol was made, but failed to locate.
-- August 16 at 8:19 p.m. A Port Wade resident reported that tires had been slashed on a vehicle.
-- August 16 at 11:43 p.m. Police were called to Lawrencetown on a report of an assault.
-- August 17 at 1:36 a.m. A Brickton caller reported that an ATV had been stolen.
-- August 17 at 6:27 a.m. A Lequille business reported a break and enter.
-- August 17 at 10:18 a.m. Police received a report of a possible impaired driver in Middleton. The report was unfounded but the vehicle was found to have no insurance or registration.
-- August 17 at 10:42 a.m. A Caller reported a break and enter into a Clementsvale resident, a satellite receiver and remote were taken.
-- August 17 at 4:18 p.m. Police received a report that a swarm of bees were in a barn.
-- August 17 at 4:45 p.m. A Clementsport resident reported an attempted break and enter after discovering that a window had been smashed when someone tried to gain entry.
-- August 18 at 9:58 a.m. Police were called to Clementsvale after a resident discovered a break and enter. A satellite receiver and a metal detector were stolen.
