Incredible picnic spreads out Aug. 24
The public is invited to come out and enjoy the Incredible Picnic taking place across the province this coming Sunday.
In Windsor, the picnic will be at the Cocoa Pesto Bistro and Victoria Park. Farther down the Valley, there will be one at Prescott House Museum, and another at the Annapolis Royal farmers market and wharf.
A local food picnic, it’s a simple idea: Nova Scotians can get together with family and friends to eat fresh, local food. There is nothing easier or more enjoyable, especially on a beautiful summer afternoon.
Bringing the concept of eating what is available from local farmers, fishers, and producers to Nova Scotians, Select Nova Scotia, the buy local program of the Department of Agriculture, launches the Incredible Picnic, scheduled to take place simultaneously at locations across the province on Sunday, Aug. 24, from 11a.m. – 3 p.m.
The public can join others for a local food celebration. People can bring their own picnic baskets with local food, or create a picnic lunch from local foods being sold by farmers and restaurants at the picnic sites.
With an average width of 128 kilometres, there’s bound to be a picnic location near you. Visit
