Newcomers Club to enjoy Cuban dining at Ye Olde Argyler
The Newcomers Club will be enjoying a taste of Cuba on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. with a Cuban meal, music and other activities at Ye Olde Argyler Lodge.

Participants are asked to meet at the lodge at 11 a.m. and can tour the grounds, go for a bicycle ride or relax on the deck before sitting down to eat at 12 p.m.

The buffet lunch will include Puerco asado (roast pork), Mojo chicken, black beans and rice, Croquetas, Platano macho (plantains), coffee, tea and desert.

After the lunch, Cuban Time will entertain the group on the porch. Ye Olde Argyler Lodge has a horseshoe pit, three bicycles for rent, and opportunities to hike on the grounds or on the old railroad line. The cost for the meal is $19.95, children ages five to 11 can dine for $9.95 while children under five dine for free. Ye Olde Argyler Lodge is located in Lower Argyle.

The event is for anyone who wants to attend and people are asked to call organizer Diane Saulnier to RSVP. The Newcomers Club is for anyone new to the community or interested in finding out more about their community and making new friends, but the social event is also open to the general public.

For more information call Saulnier, Immigration Information Navigator, at 742-2486 ext. 241 or e-mail her at dsaulnier@swsda.com. Her office is at the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Library, 405 Main St., in Yarmouth.
