Yarmouth Service Canada Centre for Youth closing for the season on Friday
The Yarmouth Service Canada Centre for Youth (SCCY) is closing for the season on Friday, Aug. 15.
“The summer was extremely successful,” said Melinda Crowell, Youth Services Officer. “We helped a large number of young people with their job searches, résumé and cover letter writing, interview techniques, and information on employment standards, health and safety in the workplace and wage rates.”
The Yarmouth Centre has helped local employers find students who were ready to work. The SCCY also hosted a number of events designed to connect employers and students, and to promote the benefits of hiring a young people during the summer.
Some of the most successful promotional events included participation in the Seafest parade and health and safety information booths. The Yarmouth Centre thanks the employers and youth and community organizations that helped to make these events a success.
