Sunday at Scallop Days

Sunday afternoon continued to be a busy time for Scallop Days on Water Street.
The dunk tank was a 'hit' for the crowd and participants as many tried their throwing skills in order to 'dunk' the volunteer.
A large group of spectators gathered at the Marina for the
Woodsman competition that included both men and women taking up the sawing challange.
Highlighting the the afternoon's events was the Scallop Shucking contest. Hundreds came out to watch who would be the 2008 shucking champion. With the stakes running high, reigning champion Paul Gidney put his title on the line for all to challenge.
Recent surgery to his forearm did not slow Gidney down and the crowd got a good show. An exciting final round of shucking saw Terry Muise slip past Gidney by three points to take the crown.
