Police ponder gazebo blaze at Windsor Elementary

The Windsor Fire Department and local RCMP responded to a call at about 11 p.m. July 27. A gazebo was engulfed in flames on the Windsor Elementary School grounds.

Windsor RCMP Cpl. M.J. DeLuco says the fire was probably contained within 30 minutes from the time firefighters arrived on scene. It was pretty much gone by the time police crews arrived on site. “However, it’s hard to say exactly what happened.”

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but the scene is now being examined by the provincial fire marshal and the RCMP, DeLuco said. “The matter is under investigation.”
