Final weekend includes Parade of Lights, chowder cook-off, beach party
At least 10 boats are registered for the Parade of Lights Saturday night. The decorated vessels will depart from Lobster Rock wharf at dark and sail past the Parker Eakins wharf several times. Some of the boats will be shooting fireworks.



The complete schedule for the final Seafest weekend events is below:
Friday, July 25

Lighthouse Day all day.

All day Treasures by the Sea along the waterfront – open-air craft market.

9 -11 a.m. Mug Up Tea Room - Acadian style breakfast [sautéed lobster & scrambled eggs on a toasted English muffin, home fries and beverage] ($7.95/person).

Noon – 2 p.m. Children’s Wish Foundation activities at Cape Forchu.

11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Mug Up Tea room or Picnic by the Sea. Try the signature cold lobster sandwich and homemade fish chowder.

Noon - 4 p.m. Seafest Family Day – children’s games and BBQ. Hot dogs and beverages ($1 each)

3 - 4 p.m. Yarmouth County Museum - 1950’s costume talk in celebration of the Rock Around the Clock high school reunion. Susan Winship will talk about clothes and customs of the 1950’s.

4:30- 6:30 p.m. Kidzact street dance competition finals at Alma Square.

6:30-8:30 p.m. Sunset Lobster Boil at the Cape Forchu Lighthouse ($ 12) with conga entertainment from Tim Merry and Marc Durkee

6:30 p.m. Free bonfire by the sea with marshmallows.



Saturday, July 26

All events at Parker Eakins/Killam Brothers wharves.

All day Treasures by the Sea along the waterfront – open-air craft market.

All day DFO (Department of Fisheries) display, Sea touch tank and demonstrations.

All day Parade of Lights. View the decorating of the boats along the waterfront.

11 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Shuck, Show and Savour Challenge with finals at 5:30 p.m. Lobster eating contest with a twist. The contestants need to first shuck the lobster and then present the full lobster without its shell before proceeding to consume it. Teams of two and time heats. Register with PlaYarmouth in the Lovitt Plaza, 902-742-2082.

11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Children’s performance by Th’YARC at the Coal Shed.

11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Face painting at the gazebo

Noon – 2 p.m. Fiddle music by Luke and Jeff Deveau.

1- 3 p.m. Demonstration of fishing livelihood skills.

1 - 2 p.m. Scallop and oyster shucking/double rope splicing.

2 - 3 p.m. Lobster shucking and banding/haddock filleting/double rope splicing.

1 p.m. Steamed mussels and clams sold to the public on behalf of the Seafest committee.

2 - 4 p.m. Cooks Chowder Cook Off - Restaurants compete to prepare the best seafood chowder, which is sold to the public for $2 a bowl. Winners to be announced by 4 p.m.

4 - 5 p.m. Live entertainment - Yarmouth Buskers

5 – 8 p.m. Lobster boil on the Yarmouth waterfront. Proceeds will go to the Yarmouth Cancer Center and the Seafest Festival.

5:30 – 6 p.m. Shuck, show and savour finals.

6 – 8 p.m. Free concert on Killam Brothers Wharf. Start off the night with Chunk of Funk followed by Midlife Crisis - 8:30 – 12 a.m. Classic rock, soul, and rock. Music of the Beatles, Van Morrison, Eagles, Rolling Stones, and more.

Parade of Lights at dusk. A night to remember.

A variety of local boats decorated and lit up to be

viewed from the waterfront. Rain Date: Sunday

July 27.

Sunday, July 27

All day Treasures by the Sea along the waterfront – open-air craft market.

All day DFO display, touch tank and demonstrations.

10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Family Beach Party at Port Maitland Beach with a sand castle building contest. Contact Leisure Services.

6 - 8 p.m. ‘Bountiful Sea Thanksgiving’ and festival closing at Cape Forchu with a sing along and bonfire to give thanks for bringing fishermen home safe.
