Sparkling success!

Kings County’s newest winery, L’Acadie Vineyards, threw a party Sunday afternoon on Slayter Rd. in Gaspereau to introduce the province’s first organic winery to the public. L’Acadie Vineyards is focused on producing world-class traditional method sparkling wines. Above, owner and winemaker Bruce Ewert (right) and Hantsport town crier Ian Woodburn show off L’Acadie Brut 2005. Crystal Maxner poured samples for a throng of patrons in the winery’s showroom. Also on hand for the event were the Downtown Swing Band, Fox Hill Cheese of Port Williams and chef Michael Howell of Tempest Restaurant in Wolfville.
