Summer is here and with it comes an increase in the amount of calls for service for Windsor District RCMP. Between Monday, July 7 and Sunday, July 13, Windsor District RCMP responded to a total of 170 calls.

There were 15 false alarms reported and responded to along with eight misdialed 911 calls.

Police are investigating four reports of assault, four complaints of uttering threats, eight reports of disturbing the peace and one report of harassment.

There were 17 reports of theft-related occurrences along with two reported frauds, two reports of break and enter, and six complaints of damage to property.

Windsor District RCMP responded to eight incidents involving traffic collisions, 14 traffic-related complaints and a large amount of impaired driving occurrences totaling 12. In most of these, people are facing impaired driving charges. Police across the province continue to battle this very preventable crime and have a zero tolerance policy.

Turning to the CrimeStoppers Report, Windsor District RCMP is investigating the following crimes:

Sometime before Tuesday, June 10 (possibly two weeks before), a Honda 450R Sport Track ATV valued at approximately $10,000 was stolen from a residence on East Uniacke Road in Mount Uniacke. The VIN# is jh2pe32207k10039.

On Tuesday, June 10, at approximately 7 p.m., a Nissan Sentra was struck in the parking lot of the Real Atlantic Superstore in Windsor, N.S. The driver of the offending vehicle left the scene without providing any information regarding the collision. Police are requesting the public's assistance in identifying the suspect vehicle.

Windsor District RCMP is investigating a break and enter into the Windsor Tourist Bureau at 31 Colonial Road that took place Tuesday, June 10, 2008. This occurred between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Between Tuesday, June 10 and Wednesday, June 11, someone broke into a blue Chev. Silverado parked by the Windsor Hantsport Railway by the waterfront.

Sometime overnight Saturday, July 13 and Sunday July 14, a full-size, 21-speed men’s mountain bike was stolen from the front deck at a residence on King Street. The bike is black with green trim. The brand name on the bike is MAILTO.
