South West Health is welcoming two new physicians to serve the residents of Yarmouth, Digby and Shelburne counties.

Dr. Brian Moses, internal medicine specialist, began full-time work at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on July 1. He completed his medical degree at Dalhousie University in 2004, and his internal medicine residency program, also at Dalhousie University in June 2008. He served as the chief resident for the Dalhousie University internal medicine post-graduate training program in 2006-2007. He was also the recipient of several awards and scholarships throughout his years at Dalhousie.

Dr. Moses grew up to South Ohio, Yarmouth County, and is pleased to be back living in the area with his wife and four children. He has been working in the local internal medicine department on a short-term locum basis since July 2006.

Also joining the South West Health team is Dr. Joel Surette, radiologist, who also began full-time work at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on July 1. He completed his medical degree at Dalhousie University in 2003, and his radiology residency program, also at Dalhousie University in June 2008. He too was the recipient of several honors, awards and scholarships throughout his years at Dalhousie.

Dr. Surette is not new to the Yarmouth Regional Hospital or to the community, having grown up in Sluice Point. He has been assisting the South West Health diagnostic imaging department with short-term locums since February 2007.
