Morden making use of community support, money

A “great group of volunteers willing to give their time” is keeping the Morden hall a going concern.
Morden Community Association president Stephanie Stevens says the hall is consistently busy, especially in the summer months.
“We have square dancers here Tuesday nights and cards on Wednesday,” says Stevens, adding many Saturdays are booked for a variety of functions. In the winter months, card marathons and potluck suppers draw community members together.
The county recently contributed $1,000 from its community hall assistance fund to the association which operates the community centre.
“We bought 10 new tables, some new dishes and cooking equipment, a high chair and a booster seat,” says Stevens. “Our monthly breakfasts have gotten very popular, so these items will come in handy.”
