Fun Day has everything but the barrel

Weymouth Fire Department hosted its fifth annual Fun Day on Saturday, with teams from St. Bernard, Plympton and Gilbert's Cove, Digby and Hammonds Plains participating in the barrel roll and bucket brigade competitions.
A good crowd was on hand to support the event that included a dunk tank, children's activities and a barbeque.
Radio personality Len Hawley was on hand to judge the barrel roll but as it turned out the barrel did not make it past the first round. A bent stave in the barrel let in too much water and the competition was put on hold.
St. Bernard fire department brought in its barrel but its spin was deemed too dangerous and the competition was called off.
Not all was lost as the bucket brigade was a success with the Weymouth taking the competition.
