Six facing charges after series of police searches
Two Weymouth residents are facing charges after a police search yesterday, July 10, uncovered what RCMP described as a substantial amount of marijuana and growing equipment.
As well, the search of the New Road home also resulted in seizure of four improperly stored firearms.
The search was the third by the Digby RCMP detachment in recent weeks.
On July 3, a grow operation on Lombard Road in Weymouth was dismantled and a 45-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man face charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
A search June 26 of a Mount Pleasant residence led to seizure of illegal cigarettes and cash, and Excise Act charges were laid against a 44-year-old and a 40-year-old woman.
Court appearances for all charged in the three searches are scheduled for Aug. 18. No names were released by police.
