At 10 this morning (Friday), after Yarmouth’s town crier’s proclamation, the 2008 Heartland Tour, a group of doctors who have been on a bicycle tour across the province this week promoting heart and stroke prevention, will leave Grand Street heading south on Main Street towards Rockville where they will continue through Chebogue turning onto Highway # 3 arriving in Tusket around 11:30 a.m.

They will leave Tusket approximately 12:30 riding through the Raynardton Road., Saunders Road, South Ohio, Hebron, turning up Session Hill arriving at the Cape Forchu lighthouse around 2:30 pm.

The group will leave Cape Forchu following the harbour to Water Street where they will have a meet and greet at Killams’ Wharf around 4 p.m. and be welcomed by Mayor Charles Crosby and others.

Traffic will be affected in these areas during these times. The public is invited to meet the 2008 Heartland Tour group members at any of these stops and encouraged to show their support on Killams’ wharf this afternoon at 4 p.m. These times are estimated as traffic conditions allow.
