Cops collar would-be furniture thief
RCMP in New Minas received a call around 11:55 p.m. last evening, Wednesday, July 9, from a citizen who observed two males stealing items (lawn chairs, furniture) from under a canopy at an outdoor display in the parking lot of the Atlantic Superstore on Commercial Street in New Minas.

Upon arrival of police, one suspect fled into the woods and another suspect was found nearby and arrested. Police recovered stolen items. The suspect, a 19-year-old New Minas man, has been lodged in the New Minas cells.

Charges are pending. The matter is still under investigation. RCMP are looking for another suspect involved in this incident.
