The Events column is for non-profit listings of events in Digby County. Items may run twice for free before the event’s date. Items can be emailed to info@digbycourier.ca, faxed to 245-6136 or mailed to the Digby Courier at 124 Water St., P.O. Box 670, Digby, N.S., B0V 1A0, attention: Events. Deadline for submitting listings for the upcoming issue is Thursday at 4 p.m.
July 10:

• ‘Tea Days in Weymouth’ in Weymouth Historical Society Building, sponsored by St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church.

• Wind development community meeting at 7 p.m. in Rossway Hall, Digby Neck. All residents welcome to share ideas, concerns.

July 11:

• Loyalist Tea in Trinity Anglican Church, Queen Street, Digby. from 1 – 4 p.m. Celebrate 225th anniversary of the landing of the Loyalists.

• Strawberry tea in Tideview Terrace at 2 p.m. Admission.

• Veterans, ex-military & wives dinner in Charlie’s Place Restaurant, Annapolis Royal. at 11:30 a.m. For information, call Vaughn Adams at 245-2388.

• Handspiker family reunion in Culloden Baptist Church from 4–9 p.m. Loyalist celebration, informal meet and greet. Bring lawn chair and any family photos. Call Pauline at (902) 837-5056.

July 12:

• Tea & Hat party in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Digby, from 1:30 – 3 p.m. Wear your favourite Hat. All welcome.

• Summer fair in Learning Grove Childcare Centre, Victoria Street, Digby. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

July 13:

• Loyalist church service in Trinity Anglican Church at 11 a.m., using the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

July 17:

• ‘Tea Days in Weymouth’ in Weymouth Historical Society Building from 3–5 p.m., sponsored by the VON.

• Youngsters 10 to 15 can bring in their funniest blooper moments and create a scrapbooking page during ‘Bloopers Scrapbooking’ at 11 a.m. in Westport Branch Library. For information, call 839-2955.

July 19:

• Sheila Poole 10K race starts at Killam’s Wharf, Water St., Yarmouth. Registration forms available from www.sheilapoole10k.com . Event is part of the Run Nova Scotia race series.

• Reading & refreshments at 4 p.m., in Arts Place, Annapolis Royal, presented by Annapolis Region Community Arts Council and House of Anansi Press.

July 20:

• Gilbert’s Cove Lighthouse picnic from 1–4 p.m. with music, auction, food, children’s games, prizes and more. Free admission.

• Clementsport United Church at 7 p.m. Free-will offering, refreshments.

July 24:

• Fiddle champ Scott Woods at DRHS Theatre at 7 p.m. Tickets at most stores in Bear River, Peck’s Auto Glass and at the door. For information, call 467-3333. Fundraiser for Bear River Economic Development Society.

July 26:

Marshall family reunion in Savary Park, Plympton, at 1 p.m., for descendants of the late Howard and Jeanettie Marshall. For information, call Ben at 245-5015 or Roger at 245-4610.

TUESDAYS:
