The 53rd Festival acadien de Clare presents “Bête 2”!

The 53rd Festival acadien de Clare, the oldest Acadian festival, is presenting Bête 2 this year.

Last year, a project was started called Bête, where several young talented artists would join to perform together and launch a CD. This year, the project Bête will release their second album, Bête 2, on July 19 at the Marc Lescarbot Hall at the Université Sainte-Anne of original French songs and instrumentals. This performance will start at 7 p.m. with admission of $7.

For those who really want to rock out to the music from Bête, there will be a teen dance organized from 9 to 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 7t at the Club social de Clare, Little Brook. This dance will be for those who are 18 years old and younger. Admission is $5.

“With the second Bête CD accomplished, the ESDC students from Meteghan River are happy to be a part of this project which shows the energy and talent of our future musicians. Bruce Boudreau made an amazing production, Patrice Bouliane from Blou did musical workshops with the adolescents, and Bete 3 is getting organized for 2009. Our committee is happy to be part of this beneficial project. I would like to thank Marc Boudreau, the Festival acadien de Clare for their support and Elaine Thimot for her recommendations from the beginning of this project.” Said Lester Doucet, Bête committee president.

For more information on either of these two events, contact the festival at (902) 769-0832.

Festival acadien de Clare runs from July 26 – Aug. 15.
