Mersey Band to offer summer concerts

The 34 member Mersey Band under the direction of Scott A. MacDonald will be offering a series of summer concerts highlighting the band’s expanding repertoire of music.

“Concerts allow the band to go beyond parade marches and have fun with different music. Expect to hear old time favorites, waltzes, big band favorites, jazz and classical music,”enthused Scott.

The band has a busy summer schedule playing at parades in Liverpool, Mahone Bay, Shelburne and Lockeport as well as at concerts in Brooklyn, Bridgewater, Lockeport and Middlefield.

“The Mersey Band, which has been around for over sixty years, has always had a strong community connection and the summer concerts as well as our band camp and training program are part of our commitment to the community,” said David Chandler, a member of the band for many years.

The Mersey band invites you to bring your lawn chair and enjoy an evening of music on the following dates, Brooklyn Bandstand: July 8, July 29, August 12 at 7:00 p.m. Middlefield: July 15, 7:00 p.m. Bridgewater Bandstand: July 23, 7:00 p.m. Lockeport: August 19, 7:00 p.m.
