West Pubnico Fire Department planning “giant fundraiser”

The yearly budget for the West Pubnico Fire Department is around $108, 000. Financial support comes from the Argyle Municipality and fire rates. The rest of the budget has to raise by fundraisers.

And the fire department has some events coming up to raise money.

The department has made substantial purchases in recent years. The latest big equipment bought by the West Pubnico Fire Department was the Jaws of Life at a cost of $27,000. A rescue van bought last year cost $150,000.



In collaboration with le Festival acadien international de Par-en-Bas these events are scheduled:

11 a.m. - Bazaar, BBQ chicken

- Horse rides with Kelly Hartley

- Aquaculture exhibit



Sunday - Music

10 to 3 p.m. – Anne Comeau – Panier d’Art – Demonstration of sewing machine at the New Horizons Room
