Hollywood comes to Kings County

Two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank departs Convocation Hall at Acadia University last weekend and waves to fans who waited in the rain for a glimpse of the Hollywood star. Swank is the title character, Amelia Earhart, in the major motion picture Amelia, also starring Richard Gere, Ewen McGregor and Virginia Madsen. Below, director Mira Nair provides instruction to the extras in Convocation Hall - many were Acadia students or alumni – and a replica of the plane flown by Earhart was positioned in a field on John Fuller’s near Blomidon, Kings County.
