Funding support for Clare events
The Acadian Society of Clare is receiving $7,000 from Ottawa for presentation of three events celebrating cultural diversity in Canada.
The funding helps the society’s activities June 21 on National Aboriginal Day, as well as St. Jean Baptiste Day on June 24, and Canadian Multiculturalism Day on June 27. Residents and visitors to the region will be able to participate in heritage activities, musical performances, and workshops.

Ottawa’s funds came from the Celebrate Canada 2008 program, which is also highlighting the 400th anniversary of Quebec City.
