Liverpool choir moves onto nationals
A local choirs voice soared above all others after entering in the Provincial Music Festival.
The Liverpool Regional High School Chamber choir recently sang at a local music festival where they received high marks. They were recommended to compete in the provincials the first week of June.
The 10 girls led by conductor Kristopher Snarby created an audio disc for judging and were awarded winners of the competition.
Now they will be competing against the country’s best in the national’s that is to take place in Edmonton this Aug.
This is only the second year a choir has formed at the school and both times they have qualified for the national’s.
“We have a lot of talented kids around,” said Snarby. He further explained that many of the girls have studied privately and have practiced diligently to get to their present level.
They have submitted two songs acapella, Canzonette by Monteverdi and Sing Me to Heaven by Gawthrope.
