Pirates, princesses and Harry Potter are just some of the themes children will experience during the upcoming Queens County Museum day camps.

“We have a series of four day camps,” said museum interpreter Britney Wentzell. “The first day camp is a series of enchantment days and the second is a series of cultural days.”

Enchantment days include a pirate princess party, Harry Potter day, medieval day and a Robin Hood day.

The Cultural day camps will “teach the kids a little bit about different cultures and we will give them interesting snacks and we’ll teach them different crafts,” explained Wentzell.

She plans to have a Mexican party, an Italian/Roman day, Egyptian history and an oriental day.

“I think it’s good for the kids to get out of the house for a little in the summer,” she added.

Children aged five to ten can sign up for the day camps.

The enchantment day camps run July 2 to 23, Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Cultural Days kick off July 30 to August 20, Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost is $7 for one day camp.

For a child to attend the four enchantment day camps it will cost $25.

All four cultural day camps will cost $25 as well.

Parents should put sunscreen on children attending the day camps, as they do go outdoors, noted Wentzell.

To register call the museum at 354 - 4058 or drop in.
