The monthly meeting of Br. #6 Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary was held May 19, with 23 ladies in attendance.

The respective committee chairs gave the monthly reports. Padre Gayle Vanamerongen reported sending cards to Ramona Campbell on the passing of her son and also to Shirley Charnock on the passing of her nephew.

Chairperson Wanda Fletcher reported making phone calls to the over 80 ladies and wishing them a “Happy Mother’s Day.” She also reported calling Doris Walsh, Bea McKeen, Barb Smith, Sharon MacLeod and Fayed Brown. She visited Margaret Johnstone at the Valley Regional and left a card and rose bowl. She also visited several of our ladies at the Evergreen Home for Special Care.

Ways and Means reported a very busy schedule this month with several banquets. Also, a reminder to the ladies that there is a large wedding in July and we will be asking for volunteers to help serve, clean up and also for apple pies. Iif you are able to donate even a little time, it would greatly appreciated.

55-year: Irene Griffin

Life Membership: Roxie Cote, Wanda Fletcher, Dorothy Johnstone, Gayle Vanamerongen, Linda Lightfoot.

Our yearly supper was held June 13 at the Kai Wing in Coldbrook and our last meeting for the summer was June 16.
