Hello everyone. One week closer to the end of school. No more lunches to make and a break on the homework front. I know I spend a good part of my morning getting the school stuff ready, library books, lunches etc
Important dates to remember for Gaspereau school include the spring concert that will be taking place on June 12th at 12:45am. June 19th is Bazaar day from 11am to 1pm and June 20th is early dismissal for Primary to Grade 5. The graduation luncheon is on the same day. Field day is on June 23rd and June 27th is the last day of school which means early dismissal.
The card parties at the Black River hall continue to be a success and draw a crowd. There were nine tables plus 2 people extra in attendance for the game on June 3rd. Blake Spinney won the gents first prize and Ken Long won the gents second. Carthel Illsley won the ladies 1st and Helen Hutt won ladies second. Don Woodworth won the gents low and Joan Chase won the ladies low. Deanna Schofield won the door prize while the traveler prize went home with Audrey Keddy. Bruce Long won the 50/50 and again he donated it back to the hall. Prizes were donated this evening by Laurie and Judy Levy and Dick and Marie Weir. Thank you to everyone who assisted.
Happy birthday to Tyler Schofield who celebrated on June 5th. Dylan Schofield is celebrating his 6th birthday on June 12th and Frank Spinney is also celebrating his birthday on June 12th. Happy anniversary to Paul and Sherry Spinney who are celebrating their 6th anniversary on June 15th.
I think that is all for this week. By the time this prints in the paper, we will know who the Stanley cup champions are. I know that I am cheering for Pittsburg but the last I saw it, it didn’t look good. Time will tell. Have a great week everyone. Remember, stay safe, healthy and happy.
