Liverpool Regional High School hosted Division I & II Boys Softball regionals last weekend.

LRHS played well, but lost each of their round robin games by a single run on Friday afternoon. Friday evening the LRHS team dropped another decision by a two run spread to Forest Heights Community School who went on to finish second in the league after being defeated by Avon View High School.

Avon View heads to provincials in Amherst this weekend as the regional champions, while Forest Heights attends as the second representative for the region.

Assistant Coach David White said, “The boys played well, but were disappointed when the other teams snuck by them, in particular Forest Heights who were downed by LRHS twice during the regular season.”

The LRHS team finished their regular season with a four wins and no losses record in league competition.

“With six grade ten and several grade eleven students on the team this year we are looking forward to another strong showing next year and are hopeful we will be competing in provincials after this year’s close miss,” said Coach Harry Phinney.
