Glooscap Elementary School honoured volunteers with an invitation to a Volunteer Tea Wed., May 21.
Approximately 36 friends and acquaintances gathered around tables in the multi-purpose room to enjoy a luncheon supplied by the staff. All those who assisted with the school fluoride program, class trips, skate-tying as well as volunteers from the churches for the breakfast program were invited.
Before leaving, Principal Corena Burbidge was adamant that, as an additional thank-you, each volunteer leave with a sprig of carnations donated by a retired former staff teacher, Phyllis Dimock.
“We are so dependent on volunteers and we really appreciate everything they do for us,” Burbidge said.
