Rugby season ending with exhibition play
The boys’ rugby team from Digby Regional High School will finish out its season with a home game after all.
The team plays Middleton tomorrow (May 22) in the season’s last regularly scheduled game, but coach Alain Saulnier said today an exhibition game here Tuesday will give both teams a little more experience for next year.

Both Digby and Middleton will be playing in a second division when rugby season rolls around again in 2009, and Saulnier expects it to provide closer competition.

The imbalance in the league was on display last week when Digby lost 53-0 to Central Kings, a team Saulnier says “was playing awesome ball.” Middleton fared no better against West Kings, losing 61-0.

The home game Tuesday will start at 4:30 p.m.
