Register.com gets set to expand; 350 jobs being added over six years
Jobs to be split between Yarmouth office and a new office in Halifax
Register.com is getting ready to expand again, this time to the tune of up to 350 new jobs over the next six years between the Yarmouth office and a new Halifax office.
The province, through Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI), will support the expansion through a payroll rebate of up to $4.9 million. The Department of Economic Development will kick in an additional $1.05 million for recruitment and training. Both dollar figures are incremental investments that hinge on hiring targets.
Register.com, which specializes in providing global domain name registration, web design and management services for small businesses, employs more than 250 people at the Yarmouth location.
Minister of Economic Development Angus MacIsaac said supporting businesses such as Register.com is a way to create more opportunities for people who live and work in Nova Scotia.
