Work on the Woods Harbour multi-use trail is underway.
Last fall when $114,000 in unforeseen costs arose, construction was halted while the Municipality of Barrington decided how best to treat the matter.
Horner Associates redesigned the sidewalk portion of the trail using an urban profile in order to construct it as far as possible within the existing budget of $670,000.
The trail, which runs between Cemetery Road and Post Office Road on the former CNR trackbed, was originally designed to be 2.8 kilometres in length. The sidewalk section will now be .8 kilometer long and the trail will be 1.3 km in length.
Completion time is expected to be mid-June for the trail and October for the sidewalk.
