The Valley United U-18 girls’ soccer team remained undefeated on the season entering play this coming weekend.

Valley blanked Dunbrack 2-0 in a match May 10 in Halifax, with Robyn McNeill and Maia Jorgenson scoring the goals.

It was the second goal of the young season for Jorgenson, while McNeill netted her first of the season. The win improved the U-18 girls’ record to two wins and no losses.

Other Valley teams playing on the May 10-11 weekend were not as fortunate. The U-16 boys dropped to 0-2 with a 3-1 loss to Dartmouth United May 11 in Burnside. It was Valley’s second loss is as many games to the Dartmouth squad. Ciaran Dunn had the lone Valley goal.

The U-18 boys were blanked 1-0 by first-place Halifax City May 11 in Halifax, dropping Valley’s record to a win, a loss and a tie so far in the young season.

The U-14 boys also played on the weekend, but the score and other details of their game were not available at press time. The U-14 girls were scheduled to play May 12 in Dartmouth.

The U-16 girls were scheduled to open their season May 14 in Halifax against Halifax City. The first home game for the U-16 girls will be May 25 at 6 p.m. against Halifax County, by which time they will have played three road games.

As well, the Valley will have representation in the senior men’s and women’s premier leagues this summer, but the schedules for those leagues has not yet been finalized.
