Grant will assist West Pubnico museum with renovations

The Musée acadien and Centre de recherche has received a $10,000 financial contribution from the Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage for use to maintain infrastructure, refresh exhibits and support operations.

The grant comes from the Community Museum Assistance Program.

Paul d’Entremont, president of the Société historique acadienne de Pubnico-Ouest, is delighted with this new funding.

“We are very pleased to have received this one-time grant,” he said. “This financial contribution will support our efforts to maintain and preserve our heritage.

“We are especially pleased the support comes at a time when major renovations were needed to the museum building due to the age. These funds will serve principally to replace the windows and museum porch entrance.”

The Musée acadien and Centre de recherche is now open to the public for the 2008 tourist season.
