Wins tighten VHSRL boys' standings

The Avon View boys remained undefeated in the Valley High School Rugby League entering play Tuesday, May 13, but a bit of a logjam has developed below the Avalanche in the standings.
Avon View topped the standings with a perfect 7-0 mark. Horton stood second at 5-3, just ahead of Kings-Edgehill at 4-3. Middleton, West Kings and Central Kings were all at 3-4, with Digby winless at 0-7.
Avon View topped Horton 37-13 in the lone boys’ game played Tuesday, May 6. On Thursday, May 8, Horton turned in a solid effort to blank Kings-Edgehill 12-0, Middleton doubled Central Kings 14-7 and West Kings blanked Digby 15-0.
Entering play May 13, Kings-Edgehill continued to lead the VHSRL girls’ standings with a 7-0 record, with the Avon View ‘A’ team just behind at 6-1.
West Kings was at 4-4, Horton at 4-3, Middleton at 1-6 and Central Kings still looking for their first win at 0-7. The Avon View ‘B’ girls, who play in the league but aren’t eligible to compete at regionals or provincials, had a record of three wins and four losses.
In VHSRL girls’ play May 6, Avon View ‘B’ shut out Central Kings 22-0 and Kings-Edgehill remained undefeated with a 36-3 victory over West Kings. On May 8, Horton blanked Middleton 17-0 while Avon View scored an 18-5 win over West Kings.
