Chorale presenting ambitious program
Music of Faure’s Requiem to fill Trinity Church
Soloists Robert Milne and Karla Grimm will lead the Fundy Chorale in performances Sunday of the most famous work of French composer Gabriel Fauré, the Requiem in D Minor.
The 38-member choral group is presenting two performances of ‘A Mother’s Day Concert’ in Trinity Anglican Church, and the concerts include African music as well as a medley of tunes from the stage show, Les Miserables.
The centrepiece, however, is Faure’s Requiem, which choir director Deirdre Morell-Omerod acknowledges is very ambitious for the still young choral group.
“But they’re doing quite well,” she said.
The Mother’s Day performances will also include drummers from the Bear River First Nation.
Concerts will be performed at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
