Sure sign of spring!

People from miles around enjoyed a tasty treat Thursday, April 17 as the New Minas Fire Department held its annual chicken barbecue fundraiser. Firefighters Matthew White (left) and Marina Pinch (back) and Lieutenant Scott Callaghan (right) were among the volunteers keeping a close eye on the racks of chicken Thursday morning, ensuring the quality of every piece. Firefighter Paul Crouse (not pictured) made sure the “secret sauce” was applied evenly. Crouse said the sauce is what makes the flavour of their chicken so famous throughout the area.
