Quick action saves homes in Weymouth Mills

Quick action by Weymouth firefighters Tuesday afternoon saved several homes in Weymouth Mills. A grass fire set to clear away brush behind a home on the Mills road got out of hand and the Weymouth Fire Department had to be called in.
Winds were light and the firefighters were able to put out the flames before nearby dwellings were damaged.
"If the wind had been up, it could have been a totally different situation," said Weymouth fire chief Roy Mullen.
He was pleased firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire to the grass and bushes.
