South Shore Regional Airport receives $250,000 grant
Region of Queens Municipality has received a $250,000 provincial grant for upcoming improvements to South Shore Regional Airport in Greenfield.
The provincial government, through the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal, is providing grants to seven locally owned airports in Nova Scotia.
Region of Queens Municipality owns the airport. Mayor John Leefe said there are “no strings attached” to the funding.
“Council hasn’t determined how it will used but it’s needed and it is good news.”
He added the airport is not as busy as the Region would prefer and hopes the funding will help.
