Boxing returns to Windsor Saturday night
Boxing returns to the Windsor Community Centre Saturday, April 12 when the Valley Boxing Academy hosts it first event of 2008.

Scheduled to see action for the local club are Falmouth's Jonathan Chambers, with Windsor's Mark Carson, Kathy Johnstone, David Griffin and Jake Schofield. Wolfville's Graham MacKenzie will also see action in a middleweight tussle.

The 12-bout card will feature boxers from across the province and Prince Edward Island as they compete in separate three-round bouts.

The card will be what the club hopes to be the first of five or six to be held in the local area this year. "We have our show this weekend and then it’s off to Moncton next weekend and Yarmouth after that,” said event organizer and Valley Boxing Academy Head Coach Chris Schofield. “We’re also starting to plan a two-day event May 23 and 24 that we hope to have a team of U.S. boxers on."

Action gets underway at 7 p.m. The all-ages event will also have a cash bar and canteen. For more information contact Chris at: chris.schofield@valleyboxing.com.
