RECREATION REPORT

Community Volunteer Income Tax Program

Registration for the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program will be taken at the Recreation Department by calling 354-5741. This service is free of charge and is available for low income/simple tax situations (Single person under $25,000 per year/Family under $30,000 per year). For more information and to schedule your appointment, please contact the Recreation Department.

National Coaching Certification Program:

Introduction to Competition, Part A

Calling all coaches... A National Coaching Certification Program, Introduction to Competition, Part A course will be held April 11th (6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) and April 12th (8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.) at the Brooklyn Community Hall. Space is limited, pre-registration is required. Call the Region of Queens Recreation Dept. to register. Fee: $25 Participants must be 16 years of age on or prior to the date of the course.

Sewing and Fashion Design for Teens

Instructor: Kate Muri. Wednesdays after school, 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. April 9 - May 29, 2008 (8 weeks) South Queens Junior High Sewing Lab Ages: 13 - 1 8 years of age $94 per person, plus supplies (information sheet supplied when you register). Minimum registration: six people. Space is limited. Pre-register by calling the Recreation Dept. at 354-5741 by April 7. Learn to sew and make your own clothes ... make your fashion dreams come true!
