Weymouth Waterfront Development Committee sponsored the season’s first tea at Sissiboo Landing on Saturday, a fundraiser for work at Sissiboo Landing.
“It was a nice way to celebrate Easter and the arrival of spring,” said Sissiboo Landing coordinator Jeanne Nesbitt.
Highlighting the afternoon was storyteller Joanna Crinion from Trout Cove on Digby Neck, who told three original stories in a traditional folktale style to those in attendance.
“Young or old, people enjoy listening to stories,” said Crinion. “Sissiboo Landing is a wonderful place to tell a story.”
The opening of Sissiboo Landing last June was celebrated as a way to promote heritage and culture.
Weymouth’s Cultural Heritage Center was part of the waterfront development committee’s plan to draw tourists to the area and boost the local economy.
