Tidal energy workshop for environmental community
A workshop March 19 in Halifax is being billed as the only opportunity for the environmental community to learn about and provide input into the Fundy Tidal Energy project.

The free, full-day workshop on the Fundy tidal energy Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is hosted by the Nova Scotia Environmental Network and will be held in the Nova Scotia Public Archives on University Avenue in Halifax.

Workshop presenters include representatives from the Offshore Energy Environmental Research Association as well as facilitator Lisa Mitchell, an environmental lawyer and consultant.

Input from the workshop will be submitted to the provincial government as part of the final report on the tidal energy assessment.

The Nova Scotia Environmental Network is offering travel subsidies to assist people in attending the workshop, and more information on the tidal energy assessment is available at www.bayoffundysea.ca .

For further information, contact NSEN coordinator Kelly McRae at (902) 454-6846. Or email caucus_nsen@cen-rce.org

Information on the workshop is also available on the NSEN website www.nsen.ca

The workshop is being funded by the Offshore Energy Environmental Research Association as part of its participation support funding program.
