Digby, SMBA both advance in championships
Both local high school teams won their opening games in the Nova Scotia Division 3 basket
The number five seeded Lady Mariners from Digby Regional downed number four ranked Halifax Grammar, 64-56. The tournament is being played in Terre Noire, Cape Breton.
In Kennetcook at the senior boys’ championship, the Stingrays from St. Mary’s Bay Academy easily handled Cape Breton Highlands 95-70.
The Digby girls now face top seeded Springhill in the semi-finals this evening, while SMBA plays the number one Hants North squad, which is hosting the championship.
