Annapolis RCMP arrested a man for arson near the scene of a mobile home fire in Deep Brook last night.
Bear River Fire Dept. responded to a burning mobile home in the Deep Brook trailer park round 8:45 p.m. Wednesday night, Feb. 13.
They called the R.C.M.P. to investigate “a suspicious fire.”
As a result of their investigation, the R.C.M.P arrested Brian Anthony Sloane of Deep Brook. He is to appear in Digby court today, Thursday, Feb. 14.
The fire completely destroyed the mobile home. Bear River Fire Department called for mutual aid from Smith’s Cove and Digby at 8:50 p.m.
They set up pumper operations some 300’ from the fire as the lane leading into the park had turned to sheer ice under the pelting rain.
By the time crews arrived on scene, the inside of the mobile home was gutted. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and mopping up took until almost midnight.
